Part of the reason that exercise and I don’t get along is that it’s work. For a good workout, there’s usually some level of discomfort involved, including panting, sweating, exertion, and effort! (Yes, typing this out makes me realize how truly lazy I really am.)
So how does a lazy, chubby person find ways to make exercise less tedious and more enjoyable? You get creative! Tonight, Matt and I went to Balboa Park and got some exercise in a more unconventional and “childish” way. Much more fun than running on the treadmill!
I balanced on the moving disc thingies….
And then Matt went down the slide…
And then I soared through the sky on the swings…
And then Matt bounced on this bouncy thing…
and then I climbed up to the clouds on the big, flexible red spider web. (This used to be my favorite playground activity.)
Obviously, the more fun you have when you exercise, the more you’ll want to do it – which is why I’m so glad I’m learning to step out of my comfort zone and get movin’ – with things like kickboxing, krav maga, and playground time!
What’s the weirdest and best way you’ve burned calories lately?
