Hi Double Chinners!
I am blissfully back on track, and am so happy to report that since last year’s highest weight, pre-medical disovery, I’m down 13.8 pounds. WHEW! Even with all my indulging over Christmas, I only gained one pound, which quickly vanished once I recommitted to a sugar free/grain free diet. I’m doing a pretty strict low-carb eating plan for the next week, but I’m not being fanatical about it. For example, I had a glass of wine the other night, and a tiny red potato another night. A few carbs here and there won’t kill me. Mainly I wanted to do a “re-set” of carbs to help me avoid craving them, and for the most part, it’s working. I’m not craving, and weirdly enough, I’m not that hungry. It’s odd to not be hungry! I’m actually having to remind myself to eat.
I’ve also been good about going to the gym. I have been FOUR times this week, and it’s not even Friday! I did a hike, I did a run around my neighborhood, I did yoga, I did the elliptical, and I did the treadmill. I’m trying to remember what my doctor says, that even 12 minutes is enough to make a difference and get all the endorphins going. I’m hoping I can keep this all up, because something kind of magical happened with the clock struck 12 on New Year’s. I thought, “This is it. I want this to be the last year that I ever hope to lose weight.” If it doesn’t happen I guess I’ll just have to start a new blog on a different topic 😉
