Everybody loves stickers

Wanna know why it’s a good thing that I work in the toy industry? Because while a large part of me screams “old lady”, there’s also a large part of me that will forever be a kid. Case in point? My reward system, or “tracking method” for how often I go to the gym. I present to you: STICKERS!!

I’m a very visual person, and sometimes, I need visual reminders of why I do something or how I’m doing. So – enter the calendar and the motivational stickers – both from the local 99c store. I think I did pretty good for June – I made it to the gym or did some form of physical activity 15 times. 15 days out of 30? Not too shabby at all.

I use the stickers to gauge how committed I’m being, and let’s face it, stickers are just fun! If I really kick ass on my goal (which is currently to exercise at least 3x a week), I’ll use them to justify a little treat, like a new purse or a manicure. (Sigh – it’s so hard not using FOOD as a reward).

This month is not off to the best start…. I’ve been once in six days but have had a few other things going on. Hopefully I can add my second sticker tomorrow 🙂

  2. OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea!! I have been slacking for 3 months now and I’m starting to hate that I’m not working out 3 x a week anymore 🙁 I think I may need to give this a shot 🙂
